What this website is

The website publishes general information about DealerSpeed Engine and about dealership website performance. The guidance on it is written to be accurate and useful. Every dealership website is different, though, and none of it is a guarantee of a particular search ranking, conversion result, PageSpeed score or load time.

Design intent is not the same as a measured result. Where this website states what DealerSpeed Engine is designed to do, it describes design intent and the safeguards built into the product. Measured results come from a review of your own site under documented conditions.

Using the free speed test

The speed test relays a website address you provide to Google's PageSpeed Insights API and shows you what it returns. What happens to that address is set out in the privacy policy. The tool is offered as-is and the figures it shows are Google's, not ours. We rate limit it. We cap how many tests one connection and one location can run so the free tool stays available to everyone, and we may block use that looks automated or abusive. Google's own service can also be unavailable or rate limited independently of us.

Use it on websites you own or are authorized to test. The measurement is a page load performed by Google, not by us. We change nothing on the site being tested. Google loads the page in the ordinary way, which runs that site's own scripts, though we send nothing to it ourselves. A testing tool is not an invitation to point it at someone else's property.

Using the product

A separate written agreement governs product use. The agreement covers service scope, support, payment, testing, data handling, warranties and limitations for the DealerSpeed Engine product on a dealership website. Nothing on this website varies that agreement, and nothing on this website is an offer capable of acceptance.

Third-party names and links

Third-party company and product names belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on this website is nominative reference only. It does not imply endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship or partnership in either direction.

The website links to external sources so you can check the underlying guidance yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish.

Changes to these terms

The terms may be updated as the website or the free speed test changes. The date at the top of this page is the effective date of the version you're reading, and continued use of the website after an update means the current version applies.

The two documents describe related but different things. The page you are reading covers use of the website itself, and the privacy policy covers what happens to information you provide. A change affecting how the free speed test handles data is reflected there.

Governing law and contact

The terms are governed by the laws of the State of Vermont. The operator, contact address and effective date are listed in the document status block at the top of this page.
